Yupp peeps, its one, yes one, day to Orientation! WOOHOOOOO!!!

Haha yup anyway we have a legacy to live up to. If Ivanhoe is gonna be the champion OG again, we need to get our freshies hyped up, and that means we gotta get hyped up! If we aren't high and willing to be shameless, neither will they. If we are high and fun and eggciting, they will be too! So get high, get hyped and get cracking! We had a great time during our orientation, let's return the favour!

HEY ALL!! :) I'm glad to announce that WE HAVE FINISHED PAINTING THE BANNER!! :D Thanks to all dedicated ogls who turned up for banner painting, and better still, for BOTH sessions! Don't worry I remember who you are haha. Anyway, here are some of the MANY photos taken on both days! Hope our spirits will be kept high till orientation and beyond!

Btw, Jonathan and Wei Liang came up with two new catchy cheers that sound goood! Will be revising them during our next ogl refresher course on 17th January 2009 Saturday. Do go, especially if you haven't been turning up k. Anyway, here are the photos :)

Oh and I drew a rough sketch of our banner. All I did was to make it rectangular, based on the square one in Greg's post earlier. Is it okay? If can I'll send this in to SCs for approval. The paints we already bought are 2 red 1 black and 1 white. We need one more yellow one and I think we're all set :)

And and one more thing, we decided that our og identity will be red caps. We can get them at $3.50 with a simple design in one colour (info courtesy of Basil), this one will be for the freshmen. For ogls maybe we'll pay a little more for a more complicated design, or we can add something on top of the cap like maybe phoenix feathers..ok I'm joking. Lol. Fyi, the freshmen will pay for their own caps :)

HEY GUYS! I'M BACK! (and i'm sick x_x) but anyway, do you all wanna have an og outing on 4 dec? it's next week thursday and from basil's collation, it's quite a free date for most of us, VGD (very good date)! we can take the time to buy banner materials and bondbondbond like covalent bonds! it can be like a whole afternoon to evening thing, we can watch movie or go bowling or cycling or something. well what do you all think? comment on tagboard k!

ps: i bought alot of goodies from thailand! and there's this lays chips flavour called SWEET BASIL. lol cool right! ok i'm so random.

pps: our storyline is VERY cool! :D

OG BANNER

Hello to all ivanhoe ogls!

You'll realise that this is from Allorix' blog so credit to sarah. lol

Here are some things we need to take note of regarding the og banner:

1) We only have $50 to spend for all our materials for making og stuff (includes: banner paint, chalk, thinner, even the materials for our allorix costume)

2) Please collect receipts when you purchase the materials and do not include your own personal purchases in the receipt. (For example, you go popular and buy paint for og and you buy pens for yourself and put them under the same receipt: DO NOT DO THAT) Please avoid using discount cards and vouchers too as they will screw up the treasury procedure.

3) Please pass ALL receipts to Stacy as soon as possible within ONE MONTH from date of purchase or else you will not get back your money anymore! Perhaps you guys can pass me your receipts and I can pass them all to Stacy since we are both councillors so it may be more convenient?

4) We are strongly recommended to buy as much materials as we can from the school bookshops.

5) While painting our og banner, please adhere to all the banner painting rules. In case you don't know them here are some of the basic rules:

- only paint at the banner painting area (behind t- block classrooms)
- always paint on the blue tarp or layout a mass of newspapers so as not to stain the area with our paint
- DO NOT wash paintbrushes or our painty hands in any toilets as they will stain the sinks.
-Wash everything at the taps along the wall at the side of the t- block girls toilet.
- DO NOT vandalise the area by painting random words on the floor especially our og name as the school admin will hunt us down.

Ok i think that is about it. We should try to share paint and other materials with other ogs as the budget is quite tight. Also, the black cloth is with me.

Ivanhoe meeting, storyline and banner

Hi IVANHOE! We had a wonderful and constructive meeting today, with a high attendance of 15, considering that so many people were overseas and all, so kudos to us!(:

I'm here to post our consolidated storyline (WOW transforming it into prose was !!!) as well as the banner design which many of the guys stayed back to do with paint/photoshop. (:

Attendance today was encouraging for everyone yo! Lets keep this FLAME going!:D

Anyhow, OG Outing tomorrow is cancelled because many people cannot make it, tentative dates will be this friday, or next week, either 2,4 December since people indicated its a good day! Will use it to bond together (Didnt play much today leh) and buy our banner stuff!:D Please do keep those dates free, ok?

SUMMARISED STORYLINE OF IVANHOE

Ivanhoe the Fiery was sent forward in time by Ananke.

In the shaking up of the times, he lost everything that he possessed and found himself alone and friendless in the icy mountains of Frost-aria. Having spent many days alone trying to find his way out to no avail, he grew dispirited with his loss of direction, and took to praying for his people’s well being.

One morning, when the cold was so tough he almost lost will to survive, he found a dying bird, and decided to eat it to satisfy his hunger. But cradling the dying bird in his hands, he looked into its eyes, saw something special into the depths of those watery pearls, and felt it would only be befitting of a hero to protect it with all the mettle he got...

He nursed the bird for a long while, drawing strength from his new companion, sheltered it from harm and gave it all he could, but sadly, as well as surely, the bird STILL died. The dead bird burst into flames and the smoke formed the shape of a phoenix, with the lament of the fallen phoenix singing its melancholic song.

A distraught Ivanhoe held up the ashes and held them close to his heart in grieve. And so his hands got burnt, and continued to burn for 3 days and 3 nights, before he burst into flames himself.

After a month of fiery mediation, the fire died. Ivanhoe found that he could control fire, and on top of that, courtesy to his previous demonstration of compassion, he had mastered the ability to transform into a phoenix.

So now, in the mind of the phoenix Ivanhoe flying away from the mountains towards the land of Victoria, fighting Ananke and restoring Victoria’s glory is all that is in his mind.

End of Storyline

And so this is our proposed banner design! As can be seen from the Phoenix below at the back, it represents Ivanhoe's morphing abilities (Must think of a nice cheer to go along :P) , and with the Ivanhoe standing at the front, with a (Would Be) Flaming sword! He has no legs for now, probably because he can fly already(:

bonding session

me and geraldine realises that most of us hardly know each other, so we are thinking of organising a bonding session before most of the meetings commence.we can go to some places to have fun and bond such as go ice skating .what do you all think about it? we need opinions and suggestions!:D:D

here's a random storyline i dreamed about((: thought that i should type this down before i forget((:

Once upon a time, in a land far far far far away, there lived group of people(?) They lived happily, except for one minor inconvenience(spelling?)- their village was surrounded by ice mountains, forcing them to be exposed to the cold 24/7. Thus, fire was highly valued as it was so scarce. One day, a little village boy named IVANHOE was trekking in the ice mountain,searching for some wood to build a fire, as he was so cold. As he reached to cut some branches of a tree, he heard a voice call out "Help me little boy! Cut me free from this tree!" Looking up, he saw a beautiful fairy, her wings caught in a hunter's traps. Already, her lips were blue with cold and she was shivering. Without a word, IVANHOE reached up and cut the fairy free. The fairy was so grateful to IVANHOE for saving her from freezing that she granted him a wish. "Let me, and those around me, be warm forever", IVANHOE begged. With a swish of her wand, IVANHOE found himself engulfed in fiery flames. When the flames subsided, IVANHOE found that he was warm all over, plue he had the ability to control any flame. Since then, IVANHOE was been travelling the country, bringing warmth to all around him((:

I see our tagboard's getting exciting! Just got some things to say!

Well, actually, not some, only 1. :DD

Well, in the discussion of our contact lists there was a suggestion for us to sign up for our various committees to enhance efficiency right? Good idea! Because we have different trips/ccas etc its quite hard, at least in November for all to meet up, I've created a google spreadsheet that we can sign up for our committees we want!

This way, Basil's job to collate the dates/etc will be easier too!
